General conditions for rental
HERTZ
- GENERAL CONDITIONS
For all car groups the minimum age for drivers is twenty - one. A valid driving licence, which has been held for at least one year, must be presented together with a passport or an acceptable national identity card. The minimal rental charge is one day, which counts as 24 hours from start of rental.
Weekend tariff is valid from noon on Friday until 9 a.m. Monday and cannot be combined with any other tariff, it is not available during July and August and the vehicle must be returned to the original rental location in any case. On collection, all vehicles will have a full tank of petrol and should be returned as such, otherwise the difference in fuel will be charged, plus 60,00 kuna refuelling expenses.
Form of payment must be advised at the time of reservation. We offer you the convenience of paying with most major international credit cards; cash rentals require a deposit appropriate to an anticipated rental charge and relevant to value of rented vehicle. Reservations are usually confirmed for a car group, and not for a specific model. All information contained herein only applies to reservations generated, and vehicles rented, in Croatia.
- INSURANCE
All rates include third party liability insurance.
- CDW and TP - in case of damage / loss of a rental vehicle or parts of it, fire, breakage of glass or theft, the renter is ( even without being at fault ) liable up to the "replacement value" of the vehicle, or the real value whichever is higher. Therefore, additional CDW ( Collision Damage Waivcr )TP ( Theft Protection ) fees are obligatory and reduce clients' liability to the amount of 3.000,00 kuna representing NWE ( Non - Waivable Excess ).
- Super CDW / TP - by paying an additional charge of 50,00 kuna daily, the renter is excluded from paying any excess amount ( NWE ).
- PAI ( Passenger Accident Insurance ) - insures a driver and any passenger in case of death or injury due to an accident involving the rented vehicle - by payment of 15,00 kuna per day fee. Amounts insured are in accordance with the valid terms and conditions of the insurance company.
- ADDITIONAL SERVICE
- Child seat, roof or ski rack, 80,00 kuna daily - maximum 240,00 kuna per rental ( damages or loss will be charged at cost price ).
- Delivery / collection: Free of charge within city centres. Delivery / collection after office hours is possible ( charge 100,00 kuna - double after midnight ). Outside city limits - a charge is calculated per kilometre from / to garage basis.
- RIH / LIT one way rentals are permitted and free of charge between our offices in Croatia. Returning the vehicle abroad may also be possible at a charge - please enquire. These services are subject to prior approval by Hertz and are not available if using the Weekend tariff.
- A Chauffeur Drive service is available, please enquire.
- Vehicles for non - smokers available on request.
- Worldwide reservation system - you may reserve your Hertz Rent a car in 150 countries throughout the world.
- NOTE
- If the customer is over 2 hours late in returning the vehicle, he/she must pay for one more day. In such cases, he/she must notify the branch office. If the customer does not take over the reserved vehicle, Hertz reserves the right to charge handling costs, especially if the vehicle should have been taken over outside the branch office.
- All customers must sign Hertz's Terms and Conditions, and must leave a deposit of 4.000 HRK or a blank credit card slip in the branch office.
SIXT
- CONDITIONS FOR RENTAL
Driver has to be in possession of a valid driving licence for at least 2 years.
- AGE RESTRICTIONS
Minimum age is at 21 years for all car groups except SDMR, SFMR and PDMR where minimum age is at 25 years.
These restrictions are not valid for corporate customers.
- PAYMENT METHODS
- Eurocard, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club and American Express Credit Cards are accepted. CarExpress Servicecard only in combination with a credit card.
- For hiring car groups SFMR and PDMR two credit cards are requested to cover the deposit.
- GENERAL INSURANCE CONDITIONS
- Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes third party liability with a maximum coverage of EUR 260.000,-- for personal injuries and EUR 180.000,-- for vehicle injuries.
- Excluded from the insurance is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods.
- Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available at EUR 2,60 (excl. VAT) per day and includes up to EUR 7700,-- for invalidity and EUR 3800,-- for medical costs.
- CDW plus is not compulsory. The renter can choose CDW plus to eliminate the non-waiverable responsibility.
- Corporate customers may have different regulations according to contract.
- DELIVERY AND COLLECTION SERVICES
- Within city limits during opening hours delivery / collection is free of charge, out of opening hours a charge of EUR 23,-- (excl. VAT) occurs.
- Outside city limits during opening hours EUR 0,50 (excl. VAT) per km will be charged, out of opening hours a charge of EUR 23,-- (excl. VAT) plus EUR 0,50 (excl. VAT) per km occurs.
- Corporate clients may have different conditions for delivery and collection services according to contract.
- ONE-WAY RENTALS
National: Within Sixt locations in Croatia free of charge.
- CROSS BORDER RENTALS (TERRITORIAL RESTRICTIONS)
- Not allowed into Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Poland, Russia, all former USSR countries, Turkey and Albania.
- Not allowed with vehicles of type BMW and LandRover into former Yugoslavia (Serbia, Montenegro), Bosnia and Hercegovina.
- AIRPORT SERVICE FEE
No airport service charge applies.
- EXTRAS
Baby seats: EUR 4,-- daily, max. EUR 20,-- (excl. VAT) per rental
Racks: EUR 6,70 daily, max. EUR 33,-- (excl. VAT) per rental
- REFUELLING CHARGES
Vehicles will contain a full tank of fuel at the start of rental and should be returned full, otherwise the client will be charged with EUR 0,99 (excl. VAT) per litre of gasoline and EUR 0,89 (excl. VAT) per litre of diesel plus a refuelling charge of EUR 3,60 (excl. VAT). These charges are subject to change without prior notice.
- ADDITIONAL DRIVER
For Public and Corporate clients no additional charge applies. Tax 22% VAT
CRS ( Hertz and Sixt )
The CRS code is an international standard for grouping similar model vehicles into specific groups thus we can only guarantee a group of vehicles. If you do not receive the model you requested, we guarantee a vehicle that is from the same or higher ranked category of vehicles at the reserved price.
